Our Billing

The Pediatric Group will bill the insurance plan that you provided at the time of service. To ensure that we are billing the correct plan, please be prepared to show your current insurance card at every office visit.

All co-payments are due at the time of service. If your child is sent with a caregiver, please make sure that they are prepared to make the co-payment for you.

If you’d like to notify us in advance of any changes in your insurance coverage, you can log into your My Kid’s Chart Patient Portal and take a picture of the front and back of your insurance card. You can also tell the front staff at the time of the appointment.

Failure to notify us often results in claims being sent to a lapsed or incorrect plan, which delays processing and may leave you responsible for full payment.

In the case of divorce or separation, the parent authorizing the treatment for the child will be the parent responsible for those subsequent charges. If the divorce decree requires the other parent to pay all or part of the treatment costs, it is the authorizing parent’s responsibility to collect from the other parent.

Additional Services During a Well-Child Visit

Most insurance plans fully cover routine well-child exams, often with no copay or out-of-pocket cost, and we're glad to provide that care. Sometimes, though, a routine visit turns into something more. If concerns come up that go beyond a standard checkup, such as ongoing tummy aches, headaches, allergies, struggles at school, or significant dietary issues, we want to take the time to address them properly rather than rush past them.

When a visit requires that extra attention, a separate diagnosis and charge may be added to reflect the additional care provided. Because this adds a second diagnosis to the visit, it can sometimes trigger out-of-pocket costs like copays or deductibles. The same is true if your child happens to be sick at the time of their well visit. We know surprise charges are never fun, so we want to be upfront: our billing simply reflects the full care your child receives during their time with us.

We also kindly ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a well-child exam. A $50 fee applies to no-shows or late cancellations, which helps us keep appointments available for all of our families.
